H Thea Halo είναι η συγγραφέας της καταξιωμένης μαρτυρίας, Ούτε το όνομά μου, που έτυχε μεγάλης αναγνώρισης και υπήρξε καθοριστική για τις πρώτες αναγνωρίσεις της γενοκτονίας των Ποντίων, των άλλων Ελλήνων της Μικράς Ασίας και των Ασσυρίων σε πολιτειακό επίπεδο στις Η.Π.Α. Μαζί με τον καθηγητή Adam Jones, η Thea Halo υπήρξε η κινητήρια δύναμη της προσπάθειας που οδήγησε στο ψήφισμα του 2007 της Διεθνούς Ένωσης Ακαδημαϊκών για τις Γενοκτονίες (IAGS) που αναγνωρίζει τις γενοκτονίες των Οθωμανών ενάντια στους Πόντιους Έλληνες, τους Μικρασιάτες Έλληνες και τους Ασσύριους ως εφάμιλλη με την γενοκτονία των Αρμενίων. Έχει εργαστεί ως ανταποκρίτρια και παραγωγός εκπομπών σε διάφορους ραδιοφωνικούς σταθμούς της Νέας Υόρκης, ενώ ιστορικά άρθρα της έχουν συμπεριληφθεί σε πανεπιστημιακά και σχολικά βιβλία με θέμα τις γενοκτονίες των Ελλήνων και των Ασσυρίων. Το 2009, η Thea Halo και η μητέρα της (η οποία πέθανε το 2014 σε ηλικία 105 ετών) έλαβαν την ελληνική υπηκοότητα και βραβεύτηκαν με το βραβείο HOMER της ΑΧΕΠΑ. To 2012, η Ένωση Ελληνοαμερικανίδων Επαγγελματιών τίμησε τη Τhea Halo και τη μητέρα της για την «ουσιαστική συνεισφορά τους στη Λογοτεχνία και στην Ελληνική Πολιτισμική Κληρονομιά και Ιστορία».
